May SEO Meetup in One Week!
May 8, 2012 by davematson
We are back! And we’ve got an interesting and provocative topic next Tuesday, 5/15: Paid Links: The Truth and the Disinformation.
We all know that links are critical to search rankings, and that “paid links” are generally considered to be a bad practice by search engines. We will explore and unpack the definition of paid links, and when they might be a legitimate and effective tactic. It is sure to be a lively presentation and discussion.
Pizza, and a door prize for a lucky attendee provided by Text Link Ads.
Two notes on RSVPS: We are at the Microsoft NERD Center in Cambridge, which is great, but we have some additional minor hurdles to jump.
1) Please RSVP by Saturday at noon. I need to send a complete list of RSVPS to Microsoft for building security/sign ins a couple of days in advance. If you aren’t on the RSVP list, it will be more complicated.
2) Please check your Meetup.com profile that your Full Name is updated. A lot of people only have their first name, which is a problem when I export the list that they will use at security.
More event details and RSVPS here.
Also, mark your calendars for our June 11 event back in Arlington with a rescheduled Casie Gillette.
Lastly, as a courtesy to our generous hosts, we will attempt to minimize specific and exclusive emphasis on google, and it’s use thereof as a verb.
See you there!
Dave, Brian & Peter
