(1) Put your full geo address on each page you want to have a high local search ranking;

(2) Use all the variations of geo names (in our case this would include MA, Mass and Massachusetts);

(3) Include the country to make your location perfectly clear both to site visitors and the search engines (in my case, &quot;138 Larch Road Cambridge&quot; all by itself would be ambigous without the addition of &quot;MA&quot; and &quot;US/USA&quot;).

(4) Seek listings in the *local* Yahoo and Bing directories (those are free but subject to approval. Bing Local is currently open only to US-based companies.</description>
